Obituary for Charles Vanlandingham

Charles F. Vanlandingham, beloved husband, father and grandfather, was welcomed home by his Heavenly Father on April 4 at the age of 86, after a long and valiant struggle with Parkinson’s Disease. He is survived by his wife, Marcheta Mae (Grant) Vanlandingham; his five children, Diane, Grant (Denise), Chip (Mary), Beth and Marcella Vanlandingham; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother Frank and Genia Vanlandingham and sister-in-law Wanda Vanlandingham. He is preceded in death by his parents Rev. Alvin and Ernestine Vanlandingham and his brother Dr. John Vanlandingham.

Charles and Marcheta established Charles Pharmacy in Milton in the 1960’s and for over 5 decades served the community through their business. Charles was also a founding member of Christ United Methodist Church where he was an active member for almost 60 years, serving for many years as trustee, administrative board member and church treasurer. His kindness, generosity, big smile, big heart, sparkling blue eyes and infectious laugh brightened the lives of his family, friends, and community.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, Milton, Fl, on Saturday, April 17 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, you may contact the church to make a gift in his memory.
